Last week, I taught a custom AD course which consisted of several topics of AD architechture and security as it relates to Active Directory. Materials used to compile the course were taken from MS Press self-study kits 70-293 and 70-294. Sources were adequately documented and the texts themselves were part of the actual course materials. The class learned alot and enjoyed the demonstrations on the new features in Windows Vista and Server 2008. I used the downloadable VHD for server 2008 for the demo.
Additional topics covered in the class were, OSI model, anti intrusion and forensic concepts, IP addressing, and a technology overview as related to servers and data centers.
Several of the students took me out to lunch on Thursday to a local burger stand called Garrason's. Here I was introduced to the "Burger Nazi". This is a term coined from Seinfeld where the term "Soup Nazi" was used. The food was amazing. The hamburger portion is somewhere between 1/4 lb and 1/2 lb but was unbelievable. This local "hole in the wall" is a definate must see for people who want to experience Harrisburg.
For the course, my hope is that there will be need for repoeat deliveries. As for satisfaction, I have already been asked to deliver 2 back-to-back 3-day Windows Vista courses in the first week of April for the same client!
