The city of Gatineau decided in their infinite wisdom today to chop all the ice in my neighborhood back to the curb. I assume the issue was because of the snow accumulation this year, if 2 cars park on either side of any given street, because there are no sidewalks the 4 feet in width that remain must be shared be pedestrians, pets, and cars...
The weather forcast calls for 10 degrees this weekend but since when has that been a reliable measure for snow clearing??
My beef here is twofold. The city passed and chopped the ice but left debris roughly the width of the ice they chopped to begin with so cars still park where they did before... My second issue is the titanic sized iceberg they left to block my driveway literally completely. Now a John Deere tractor passed to chop this ice to begin with and snowblowers are not supposed to be used on dense ice, so what does a well seasoned Canadian have at his disposal to clear this monstrosity?
I have a hammer...
