  • Twice in one week!

OK What gives...? I have travelled a fair bit in the pasted but never have had so many problems with airlines! This week I have been on two trips and in BOTH cases the airline has lost my luggage!!!

    What up with that??

BTW for those of you looking for me, I am checked into my room now.

On a side note, in both case I have gotten a toiletry bag and I have to say that the Air Canada bag is better as you get a plain white t-shirt and laundry soap along with all the normal stuff. Continental Airlines you get the normal stuff (toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, shaving cream shaver and anti-perspirant) plus hair spray!

  • Obama and OWSUG.ca event tonight

YES!!! OWSUG.ca event is still on! ( I had to answer this question a few times today!) If you are really lucky you will spot Obama on your way to the event! Keep in mind that there are road closure and give yourself a bit more time to get to the MS office tonight.

Also keep in mind that the main doors lock at 5:55 p.m.!

P.S. I’m leaving now for the event, I should be at the MS office before 5 P.M.

P.S.S. Free shirt to the first person who shows me a picture of him or his Limo on their cellphone tonight!

  • Groove not so Groovy!

So I am add Groove to my current laptop. Groove, as part of its setup, ask the question do you have a Groove account I say yes, since I had one on my old laptop. I follow the prompts, anyway this is what I get, depending on what I pick.

    image image

Now the problem here is I have formatted my old laptop a long time ago, so there is no way to get this data back. Even better I used Windows Easy Transfer to transfer my data from one laptop the another.  So why didn’t it transfer the data? And Why doesn’t Groove give you any other options? This is very poor planning on the Groove Team’s part!  Now we will see what happens when I create an new account! I'm not holding my breath.

If it doesn’t work I will go back to the old stand by and create an FTP account on my web site to get the data, that I need!

  • Aventura Honeymoon

    Drink type: Nightcap

    Glassware:  Old Fashion

    Mixing: Shaken

    1 oz Cream

    1 oz Cream de Cacao

    1 oz Xtabentún

Story: Xtabentun is a liquor that Ellen and I were introduced to on our honeymoon and as you can guess from the name we when to Aventura Spa Palace.  Generally we like Xtabentun as a sipping drink but I thought that I would try it as a nightcap. The taste of the honey come out more and the anise become more of secondary flavour.

Rating: Since This is the first drink posted, I’m an still working out the kinks in the scoring system.

Ellen: She is not a big fan of cream based drinks but she found the flavour in this drink.

Me: I like nightcaps and this one will certainly be one of the ones that I will drink!

  • Drinks

As I have already posted I am taking a personal interest course in Bartending to go along with my bar setup (first picture). As part of my final exam I need to:

    • Modify four existing cocktails to ( the best two will be selected and graded)
      • make it cheaper (ie replace Grand Marnier with Triple Sec)
      • easier to make ( Reduce the number of liquors, thereby making it faster)
    • Create 4 original drinks:
      • 1 Shooter
      • 1 Short cocktail
      • 1 Cocktail
      • 1 my choice.

So over the last few weeks I have already started this process, Ellen and I have been testing all of the creations. :-)

To help me remember some of these drinks, I will blogging them. Both the ones that work and the ones that don’t work. In either case I will tell you why it does or doesn’t work.

BTW, No, I’m not going for Tom Cruise in Cocktail but I now know how to do the flaming Coffee’s! :-)
