I am going to be working on two more Microsoft Exams. One is 70-646, Windows Server Administration and the other is 70-236, Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Both are technologies I use at my job and I want to get certified on. My plans for the 646 is to write the exam sometime before the end of October. That being said, if it looks too ambitious then I might push it out to November. The Exchange certification I plan to work on with a friend in Ottawa to help keep me focused. The plan for him and I is to...

Are you planning on utilizing the free exam code for the 70-656 exam that Trika posted to her blog? If you do, you'll want to book quickly as the free voucher is only available to the first 500 people. If you are going to write the exam, check out Garth's post about free E-learning courses that Microsoft has out. The one which will help you prepare for this exam is Clinic 6335- Exploring Microsoft Application Virtualization. Free exam voucher, free training, doesn't get much easier to get certified.
Mark Evans posted a bit about what he thought was the strength of the blackberry, which is its keyboard. While I agree with Mark that the keyboard is easy and makes popping of an email quick, I have seen my friends with iPhones do it just as quick as me. I also had to buy pointing sticks for some of the staff as they just couldn't use the keyboard on their Blackberry, it was too difficult for them. I personally feel the strength of the Blackberry is its corporate inroads and how easy it is to get up and running....
Yesterday Trika mentions she’s moving into a new role at Microsoft. Today I discovered the The Microsoft Learning Community and Evangelism Team blog called Born to Learn. If you participate in Microsoft certification, then I suggest you add this blog to your feeds as this is most likely where we will find information that we used to get from Trika.
The Napanee Rotary club is putting on it’s First Annual Fun Fall Tour, Saturday October 04, 2008. There is a road tour, poker run, geocaching, a meal and prizes for this event. For the full details of the event and to download a pledge form, go to www.NapaneeRotary.com.
For those who read Trika’s blog, “So, a booth babe and a geek walk in to a bar” you’ll already know she’s leaving her marketing post with Microsoft Certification and Learning and moving into a role with the Windows Embedded team. I am sad to see her leave as she gave the Certification and Learning team at Microsoft a personality. She will be missed but I know she will do well in her new role with Microsoft and I know her replacement will have big shoes to fill.
I needed a way to install Windows Vista games by script so I could further automate my MDT installations. Windows Vista business does not install games automatically, I think Home versions do though. Really you wouldn't want them in the office, but these computers are for library patrons and some like to play solitaire. I did some searching the internet and found somewhere along the line this command line - pkgmgr.exe /iu:InboxGames /quiet To make this work in MDT, you go to applications, create a new one, tell it that this is an application without source files, fill in the...
Topic: Cross Platform Monitoring with OpsMgr 2007 Description: Monitoring with Operations Manger 2007 is not limited to Windows Computers. The capabilities of Operations Manager extend far beyond. For the first time as an agent based solution native to Operations Manager, Unix systems can be monitored. Local resources like CPU, memory, disk can be monitored. Like the Windows Event Logs the syslog can also be monitored. Integration with Operations Manager even includes tasks which are performed locally on the agent managed systems. There is even integration with the reporting subsystem. See what is new with Cross platform monitoring in System Center...

In Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, the event will be two days and in Ottawa, Halifax, Calgary and Winnipeg the event will be one day. I started using Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 a few weeks back. I installed it so I would know what to expect when installing it on the library computers. The biggest feature for public access computers is the InPrivate browsing....
I wrote the exam I was dreading the most, 70-297. It is an exam which has multiple case studies and you only have a short amount of time to read, and answer each one. I got pressed for time on...
