Mystery software demystified: I checked the registery for those strange numbers. Turns out it is the version number of SmartWizard Discovery, an application that ships with SmartSwitches from Netgear. The entry in A/R P is linked to the uninstall file for the software. Well that's one problem solved.

I will be installing SCE agentless on the servers. I will have to find a way to document whatever I find.
The time on the DC1 was off from all other time servers on the net, including that on Blackberries and cell phones. WS should updated themselves now that I made that time correction (hope it holds).

No static enties on any DNS server. At least nothing that is jumping out saying it is static. All DNS servers have the same or at least similar entries. The difference are the local machine IP addresses.
Could this error be caused by a timing issue? I found the time on DC1 behind by 3-4 minutes of DC3. I changed the time on DC1 to see ...

The mystrious software is listed in Add/Remove programs as 2.05.05. Spyware and AV scans did not pick it up. It has no install location or anything. Due to that I think it is still some type of spyware. Has a recyling bin icon next to it. Not installed on any other DC. However it was installed prior to installation in ...

Yes we are using Win2k3 as our DNS servers. There are 3 DNS servers, one for each location hosted on each DC.

The DC in question does have 2 NICs. Although the second one is disbaled.

That site was one of the first places I started to look for answers. Tracing the IP address goes back to the DC that the IP was assigned to..
